Ah – maternity shopping!  Adriana put this off a bit longer than I thought she would but eventually she decided to go ahead and cave in!  We decided they would make a good subject for the documentary.

The trip to Ikea was pretty entertaining – even at that early stage I was hesitant to have Adriana lift anything so I had to carry these two huge Ikea boxes (the crib and the dresser) and it was all I could do to push them onto the cart!

Adriana has been incredible with working out – it makes me feel pretty lazy to know that she’s carrying the baby, getting up early, working out and eating a healthy breakfast all before I’m outta bed!

It really sucked when Adriana got sick.  She couldn’t take anything so she really was sniffling and coughing a lot and had a terrible time sleeping.  Really wasn’t pleasant but she got through it a-okay!

What can I say?  The Maldives absolutely rocked.  We had so much fun while we were there.  We saw tons of stuff and the timing was perfect – Adriana was feeling much better and after our first snorkelling expedition we went on many more (and took a ton of boat rides as well).  We also met a great couple from Norway that sat beside us during our meals and by the end of the trip we were going snorkelling with them so it was a wonderful way to close out the first stages of the pregnancy and get ready to buckle down!

It’s been funny to look back on this project to see how Adriana’s belly has continued to change.  I remember taking pictures of her in the Maldives and thinking how big her belly was and how she was really “showing” that she was pregnant.  Now that it’s much further on in the pregnancy, looking back I hardly feel that she looked pregnant at all!

We were really busy – we had to put up blinds in the nursery but also re-did the blinds in the bedroom (our first set were too cheap and they weren’t really doing the job, so we had to upgrade).  It was a pretty busy weekend and we made a pretty big mess as well!

But more importantly this finishes  the second trimester!  Onto the home stretch!
